The Employment Development Department (EDD) is looking for a highly motivated individual who is customer focused, creative, and enjoys working in a team environment. If you enjoy putting your communication, presentation, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills to use, this could be the position for you.

Under the supervision of Employment Program Manager I, the Employment Program Representative (EPR)-Disabled Veterans' Outreach Program (DVOP) Specialist assists veteran customers faced with significant barriers to employment through the delivery method of self-service, facilitated self-help, and staff-assisted intensive services. Promotes the programs and services offered by the Employment Development Department-Workforce Services (WS) Branch to job seekers, employers, workforce partners, and other community stakeholders. Provides employment services to veteran job seekers and recruitment assistance to employers following prescribed WS policies and procedures. Prepares and makes formal presentations regarding EDD-Workforce Services, benefits and features of CalJOBSSM to veterans, and engages audiences to utilize the America's Job Centers of California as a one-stop for employment and training services. Follow guidance under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), Wagner-Peyser Act and primarily the Jobs for Veterans' State Grant (JVSG) funded activities. This position may require travel or be assigned to another office within the Cluster.

Statement of Qualifications (SOQ):
The Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) serves as documentation of each candidate’s ability to present information clearly and concisely in writing. The SOQ is not a resume or cover letter.

To be considered for the position, applicants must submit an SOQ along with their application. The SOQ is a narrative discussion of how your education, training, experience, and skills qualifies you for the position. The SOQ serves as documentation of each candidate's ability to present information clearly and concisely in writing. SOQs must have both first and last name and be no more than one (1) page in length. The SOQ must specifically address the following questions in the order listed below and each response must be numbered to clearly indicate which question you are responding to:

1. As a Employment Program Representative (EPR)-Disabled Veterans' Outreach Program (DVOP) Specialist, you will be working closely with veterans to help them achieve their employment goals. Provide an example from your previous roles where you had to adapt your approach to meet the specific needs/goals of your customer. How did you ensure that the services provided were aligned with their goals and preferences?

2. Provide an example of a situation where you had to manage your time effectively to ensure that you met all your responsibilities and delivered high-quality services to your customers? How did you approach organizing your tasks and maintaining focus to accomplish your objectives within the given time frame?

Background Investigations Requirement
