Job Summary
The Licensing Associate is responsible for thoroughly analyzing all aspects of the contracting application process to assure an appropriate decision is made to contract a producer based on published guidelines. This role retrieves and evaluates all required background reports to ensure compliance.
What You will Do:
In this role you are assisting with the State Life Care Solutions and Individual Life agent licensing channels with tasks that are related to contracting requirements needed for producers. These tasks include but are not limited to:
- Request credit, criminal, regulatory, and license background reports using the data listed on the contracting application
- Thoroughly analyze the contracting application to assure no adverse information is being reported, if found; follow next steps in procedures to follow up with the producer
- Create the producer's record in our internal database and assign the producer a writing code
- Properly store all documentation in our internal storage warehouse, including contracting application, reports and any communication sent to the producer
- Properly responds to inquires received in our departmental call center or email boxes
- Maintains understanding of the appointing processes (including terminations) for individuals and business entities
- Utilize vendors, state websites and internal job aids to assist with assuring proper regulatory guidelines are being followed
- Adapting to support incoming volume as needed. Associates may be assigned to manage back office or front-line responsibilities.
What You will Need:
- Associate's degree preferred.
- 2 yrs. insurance experience in customer service, data delivery, or licensing preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
- Excellent time management skills, extremely self-directed.
- Must be able work in fast-paced environment, work effectively under deadlines, and self-manage multiple tasks.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with all stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with agents and internal teams.
- Excellent writing and computer skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
- Or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background. High School Diploma or equivalent required.

This selected candidate will be expected to work hybrid in Indianapolis, IN. The candidate will also be expected to physically return to the office in CA, IN or ME as business needs dictate or for team-building and collaboration.
