Our client, a leading Midwest construction company, is seeking an experienced Chief Information Officer with strong Oracle Cloud expertise AND proven experience implementing ERP systems, ideally within construction or manufacturing.
Job Scope/Outline In this pivotal role reporting to the CFO, you'll shape and implement our client's technology strategy, driving innovation and operational excellence in the construction sector. You'll lead their IT department, collaborating with C-level executives to leverage Oracle solutions and other technologies for business growth and process improvement specific to construction projects and operations.
Duties
- Develop and execute a comprehensive IT strategy aligned with construction business goals
- Lead selection and implementation of innovative technology solutions, with a focus on Oracle applications for construction management
- Ensure security, integrity, and availability of IT systems and data across construction sites and office locations
- Manage IT department budget and resources, optimizing technology investments for construction operations
- Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement in construction technology
- Evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends relevant to construction, including BIM, IoT, and AI applications
- Develop and maintain key technology vendor relationships, particularly with Oracle
- Ensure compliance with IT regulations and construction industry standards
Qualifications
- 10 years of progressive experience in IT leadership roles, preferably in the construction industry
- Strong understanding of current and emerging technologies in construction, especially Oracle solutions
- Extensive experience with Oracle E-Business Suite, Oracle Construction and Engineering Cloud, or similar Oracle applications
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to develop and implement strategic IT initiatives in a construction environment
- Experience in managing IT budgets, vendor relationships, and complex construction technology projects
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills related to construction industry challenges
Desired Qualifications
- MBA or other advanced degree
- 5 years of experience in the construction industry
- Oracle certifications or demonstrated expertise in Oracle implementations
- Knowledge of IT security best practices and regulatory compliance in construction
- Track record of successful digital transformation initiatives in construction firms
- Experience with data analytics and business intelligence tools for construction project management
- Familiarity with construction-specific software such as project management tools, estimating software, and CAD/BIM applications
