What are the responsibilities and job description for the DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL position at Employment Solutions Inc?
This position manages the programmatic aspects of persons who receive services in our Whipple Court, Expressive Program, and Sunnyside facilities. Depending upon the particular assignment, this position reports to the Whipple Ct. Director, Expressive Programs Director, Sunnyside Director, Lifeworks Director or other services Director.
Specific Duties:
1) Provide direct service for assigned service recipients. These duties include: completion of monthly service summary, participation in the annual plans of care, participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, complete other various programmatic reports, attend to the concerns of family members and significant others and advocate for the general welfare of assigned recipients. EF
2) Plan, arrange and/or conduct activities which enhance self-sufficiency. Plans and conducts downtime activities. EF
3) Trains/assists service recipients in the performance of production or creative/expressive activities. EF
4) Makes programmatic observations for other staff. EF
5) Helps manage production output and quality standards to meet customer needs and or engages service recipients in creative activities such as art, music, fitness, community outings etc. EF
6) Maintains a safe environment. EF
7) Conducts work time studies and work performance measures as requested. EF
8) Participates in team meetings and other committees as assigned.
9) Participates in training and self-improvement activities as assigned. EF
10) Transports service recipients. EF
11) Other duties as assigned.
Other Demonstrable Functions:
1) Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with service recipients, referral agencies, significant others and production customers. EF
2) Ability to physically demonstrate activities/production tasks. EF
3) Ability to learn and apply basic therapeutic and behavioral change techniques. EF
Minimum Qualifications:
1) H.S. Diploma or GED
2) Valid driver's license
3) Additional educational and experience qualifications may be necessary to satisfy the requirements of funding agencies and accreditation bodies
Monday-Friday 7:30am-4pm.
