About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated Direct Support Professional to join our residential team in Morehead, KY. As a Direct Support Professional, you will be responsible for providing support and assistance to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Your main goal will be to help these individuals achieve their personal goals and live their lives to the fullest. You will work closely with a team of professionals to ensure that each individual receives the highest quality of care and support. Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screening
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
- Certification in CPR and First Aid
- Experience with behavior management techniques
- Experience with electronic health records
Responsibilities:
- Assist individuals with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration
- Develop and implement individualized care plans based on each individual's needs and goals
- Provide emotional support and encouragement to individuals to promote their independence and self-esteem
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of each individual's progress and care
- Collaborate with a team of professionals to ensure that each individual receives comprehensive care and support
Skills:
As a Direct Support Professional, you will use your excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with individuals and their families.
