Job OverviewAs a Senior Buyer, you will oversee purchasing, supplier management, and inventory control, ensuring a smooth and efficient production process. Your role will involve collaborating with various departments to optimize procurement processes, reduce costs, and uphold quality standards, while making data-driven decisions.
Key Responsibilities :
- Purchasing & Supplier Management :
Manage RFQs, purchase orders, and supplier negotiations using the E2 MRP system.
Maintain supplier on-time delivery and implement cost-reduction strategies.Monitor vendor performance through KPIs, scorecards, and quarterly business reviews.Ensure procurement planning is accurate, focusing on cost, quality, and efficiency.Identify and onboard secondary suppliers to mitigate risk and reduce dependency.Inventory & Cost Control :Monitor inventory through audits, cycle counts, and reconciliations.
Optimize supplier agreements to reduce costs and eliminate inefficiencies.Identify obsolete parts and suggest alternative uses or disposal options.Cross-Functional Collaboration :Work closely with Production, Engineering, and Service teams to align on supply needs.
Contribute to incoming inspections and quality control for purchased materials.Participate in process improvement initiatives in procurement, vendor management, and inventory control.Process Optimization & Reporting :Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for purchasing and inventory.
Provide monthly supplier performance and cost-tracking reports to leadership.Implement best practices for inventory management, including Kanban and stock management.Systems Management :Manage and optimize supply chain and inventory systems, particularly the E2 system.
Ensure effective use of the Kanban system for consumables and inventory.Background Profile :
Education : Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) with 5 years of relevant experience in manufacturing.Experience : Strong background in manufacturing quality, root cause analysis, inventory management, and procurement.Skills :Purchasing and Buying standards
Data analysis and problem-solving for inventory-related issues.Proficient in database management and reporting.Strong communication and reporting skills.Ability to make sound judgment calls and prioritize tasks effectively.Detail-oriented and adept at managing multiple tasks simultaneously.Certifications : Supply Chain certification is a plus.Physical Requirements : Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.Salary and Benefits :
Salary Range : $75,000–$100,000 (based on experience, drive, cultural fit, and problem-solving skills).Benefits :Healthcare coverage (optional Anthem plans with or without HSA, dental, and vision options).
