Job Summary
The Accounting Clerk conducts various initiatives within the Harris County Toll Road Authority's Finance division. This includes verifying that transaction data from external parties agrees to system transactions. This position is responsible for working with various County Departments to identify unknown transactions that have been posted into the system. This position also is responsible for completing any ad hoc requests as required.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Verifies transaction data from external parties agrees to system transactions.
- Receipts, reconciles, and posts cash/monies to appropriate accounts; may perform wire transfers as required.
- Assists with year-end audit preparation requests; assists with, tracks, and monitors progress of all other inquiry and documentation requests.

Work Environment
There are no major sources of discomfort. A normal office environment with acceptable lighting, temperature controls and furnishings is provided.
Physical Demand
Light Work-Exerting up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg control requires exertion of forces greater than that of sedentary work and if the worker sits most of the time, the job is considered light work.
Position Type and Typical Hours of Work
- This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday.
- Hours may vary based on the business needs of the department.
Required Education and Experience
- Associates.
- Previous clerical or data entry experience is a plus.
- Experience: 2 – 3 Years minimum
- Additional experience with specific software or applications: Any major ERP such as Oracle, SAP, Microsoft D365 required.
- 2 professional references are required.
- Dress Code: Business Casual
- Schedule: M-F 7:00a-3:30p 40 hours/week
