JOB DESCRIPTION
The Retail Budtender, employed by HR MGMT 10 LLC as the Employer of Record, will work on-site at one of our brand partners' cannabis retail locations to provide exceptional customer service and expert knowledge of cannabis products. This role involves assisting customers in selecting the right products, providing information on the effects and benefits of different cannabis strains, and ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations governing cannabis sales. The Budtender will work closely with the Retail General Manager and other team members to create a positive customer experience and maintain a compliant and welcoming retail environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cannabis, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to providing a high level of customer service.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Service and Product Knowledge:
- Greet customers warmly and provide personalized service by understanding their needs and recommending suitable cannabis products.
- Educate customers on various cannabis strains, concentrates, edibles, and other products, including their effects, benefits, and usage methods.
- Answer customer questions, provide product recommendations, and ensure a positive and informative shopping experience.
Sales and Cash Handling:
- Assist customers with product selection and sales transactions using the point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Accurately process sales, handle cash and card transactions, and provide correct change and receipts to customers.
- Follow cash handling procedures and ensure that all sales are accurately recorded and reported.
Compliance and Regulation Adherence:
- Ensure all sales and transactions comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including verifying customer identification and age.
- Follow all standard operating procedures (SOPs) for retail cannabis sales, including checking IDs, enforcing purchase limits, and maintaining proper records.
- Stay up to date with cannabis laws and regulations to provide accurate information and ensure compliance at all times.
Inventory Management and Organization:
- Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records, restocking shelves, and organizing products to ensure a clean and well-presented retail environment.
- Participate in regular inventory counts and audits to identify discrepancies and ensure accurate stock levels.
- Report any inventory discrepancies, damaged products, or low stock levels to the Inventory Manager or Retail General Manager.
Cleanliness and Store Maintenance:
- Ensure the sales floor, counters, displays, and product areas are clean, organized, and visually appealing at all times.
- Perform routine cleaning tasks, such as wiping down counters, sweeping floors, and sanitizing high-touch areas to maintain a hygienic retail environment.
- Assist with other tasks as needed to support the overall operation and appearance of the store.
Team Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with the Retail General Manager, Assistant Managers, and other team members to ensure smooth and efficient store operations.
- Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate customer service, sales, and inventory activities.
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions to stay current on product knowledge, sales techniques, and compliance requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent; experience in retail, customer service, or the cannabis industry is preferred.
- Basic understanding of cannabis products, strains, and consumption methods, or a willingness to learn.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively and build rapport with customers.
- Ability to handle cash and perform transactions accurately using a point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Attention to detail, organizational skills, and a commitment to maintaining compliance with regulations.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be 21 years old.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check.
- Ability to obtain and maintain any required state-specific certifications for retail roles within the cannabis industry.
- Physical ability to perform typical retail tasks, including standing, walking, and lifting up to 25 lbs.
