Job Summary: Works in a Repair Depot environment on component level, servicing and testing on a wide variety of electronic, PC based, and electromechanical equipment. Operates and maintains digital and analog electronics devices, repairs and troubleshoots assemblies to the module components level. Assists field personnel in a variety of tasks at field sites. This position typically works under close supervision and direction.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Reads and interprets schematics, part/wire lists, test procedures, engineering manuals, work orders, customer specifications.
- Diagnoses, locates, troubleshoots malfunctions, and repairs as needed.
- Sets up and operates electronic test equipment to perform complex operational and functional tests on assemblies and sub-assemblies.
- Assists field personnel in the performance of their duties on an as needed basis.
- Builds cable assemblies and performs other related duties as required.
- Performs technical and semi-technical tasks not always electronic in nature.
- Maintains appropriate written and electronic records and documentation.
- Possesses ability to understand verbal instructions to rework, repair, test, troubleshoot, and maintain equipment and PCB's.
Minimum Job Requirements:
- Associate Degree or equivalent, plus a minimum of two years in an electronic test and repair related industry.
- Previous experience in an electronic/electromechanical repair or production/test environment
- Experience in the use of hand tools & soldering equipment (through hole and SMD)
- Experience in the use of electronic test & fault-finding equipment – DVM, Scope, software tools for example
- Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work in hectic and noisy environments.
- Must be able to stand for long periods, and ability to lift 50 pounds. Ability to travel.
- Computer literate – knowledge and experience of Microsoft packages, and database systems
- Systematic and analytical approach to problem solving and fault finding.
