The HR Specialist will collaborate with leadership to shape the employee experience, foster a positive culture and support retention goals. Strong commination, creativity and leadership skills are essential. This is a full-time position Monday through Friday, with occasional after-hours and weekend work as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Human Resources, Communications or a related field is preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a related field such as HR, Organization Development, Employee Engagement, Program Management, Community Affairs or Public Relations required.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Proficient in program management skills, including planning and organization.
Bilingual in English and Spanish is plus.
Valid Texas Driver License
Typical Duties
Develop strategies, structures and methods to drive employee engagement across the company.
Create and implement programs that connect employees, highlighting and amplifying our distinct culture for both new and existing team members.
Organize and execute events, programs and initiatives designed to boost employee morale, engagement and well-being.
Develop and implement strategies to enhance the in-person / in-office employee experience, making it compelling and engaging while differentiating it from the at-home working experience.
Establish and track effectiveness measures, including tangible metrics such as turnover and perceptual measures such as employee engagement scores.
Collaborate with facility and site leaders to avoid gaps or duplication of engagement efforts.
Leverage employee engagement strategies as key drivers of change across the organization.
Advise leadership on engagement-related activities and initiatives.
Create scripts and presentations for all-employee huddles, meetings or training sessions and serve as emcee for these events.
Coordinate the onboarding process for new employees or students to ensure a seamless integration into the organization.
Support and coordinate ongoing employee engagement events and activities across the organization.
Design and execute a communication strategy to deliver key messages, corporate culture and business goals across the organization.
Develop internal communications including newsletters, announcements, email updates, publications, intranet content and special projects.
Lead development and execution of the employer brand and employee value proposition to enhance retention and engagement.
Design strategies and initiatives that help employees align with the organization’s goals and adapt to new ways of working.
Drive the creation and implementation of employee recognition programs that are valued at all levels of the organization.
Collaborate with HR to develop engaging communications that reflect our brand and attract top talent.
Regularly gather feedback from employees through surveys, focus groups and discussions to understand their needs and concerns, and use this feedback to inform engagement strategies.
Stay updated on current trends and best practices in employee engagement to ensure the continued effectiveness of programs.
Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.
