Summary of Position: The Human Resources Specialist position acts as a consultant and coordinates a wide variety of human resource activities for client accounts. This position entails a significant amount of research of federal, state, and local laws and the ability to analyze and apply information. The ability to communicate verbally and in writing is critical due to the client-service nature of our Company.
Responsibilities:
- Acts as a consultant and provides coaching to clients on a broad range of HR-related issues, including but not limited to; employee classification, employee performance, employee compensation, interviewing/hiring, personnel issues, employee terminations, employee discipline, employee leave of absences, and proactive workplace solutions.
- Effectively address client inquiries to ensure “top notch” client experience.
- Coordinates with clients to prepare employment documents; such as Offer Letters, Job Descriptions, and Employment Agreements.
- Coordinates with clients to prepare performance improvement plans, warning letters, termination letters, and unemployment claims.
- Coordinates with client to develop attainable, fair, and measurable performance objectives and bonus structures depending on client industry and specific practice.
- Prepares and maintains Employee Handbooks and other office policies and procedures for clients in compliance with all applicable law.
- Conducts state specific, local, and federal research in regards to human resources and employment law. This requires gathering data and maintaining information.
- Acts as a compliance liaison to clients, providing regular and timely updates on state-specific, federal, and local employment laws and regulations. Recommends and makes policy changes based on updated information.
- Manages sensitive and confidential matters such as personnel relations, employee relations, organizational changes, and protection of secure information, data, and files.
- Exercises best judgment and takes initiative to solve client inquiries, concerns, and issues that arise in the workplace.
- Completes special projects by clarifying project objective, setting timetables and schedules, conducting research, and developing and organizing information.
- Interacts and supplies information to other departments within the organization on a regular basis.
- Assists with the day-to-day efficient operations of the HR department.
- Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential.
Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree in Human Resources or Business preferred; or 1-2 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Intermediate knowledge in MS Office.
- Must be well organized, level-headed, and solution-oriented.
- Must be able to take initiative and have the ability to handle multiple issues on a tight timeline.
- Must be efficient, productive, and comfortable working in a true team environment.
- Attentiveness to detail is key in this position.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
