THIS POSITION IS AN IN-PERSON SUMMER TEACHING POSITION.
THIS POSITION PAYS $20.00 AN HOUR.
Position Summary
The instructor position provides in-person instruction and support to students across the State of Florida. Students range in age from 14-21 and all have either an IEP or a 504 Plan. Class sizes range and the position allows for teachers to lead and support the students with co-teaching and support. Staffing ratios are mandated on a 1:10 teacher to student ratio. Class sizes are no larger than 30 students in a given class. Curriculum is delivered via Microsoft Teams and utilizing PowerPoint, videos, and digital workbooks. There are three core classes being offered: Work Readiness Training, Self-Advocacy, and Career Camps.
Work Schedule:
Work Readiness and Self Advocacy classes are 20 hours each and are conducted on two consecutive weekends during the school year and on weekdays throughout summer and on longer school breaks.
Career Camps are scheduled over the longer school breaks such as: Thanksgiving, Winter & Spring Break, and Summer Break. Hours would range between 25-35 hours during weeks when Career Camps are scheduled. A typical day would be 9 am-4 pm.
It may also be possible to assist with our Work Readiness and Self Advocacy classes. These classes are typically held over two subsequent weekends or during longer school breaks during the week. A typical day would be from 9 am-2:30 pm.

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Education or other related field preferred.

Computer Skills: Strong preference for candidates with Microsoft Teams and PowerPoint experience.

- Assists to prepare for and conduct in-person and virtual Career Camp sessions as needed.
- Meets with the Career Camp team to prepare for Career Camp sessions prior to and after each session.
- Organizes guest speakers; schedules student field trips.
- Contributes to in-person and virtual classroom activities or games; aids in the teaching of PowerPoint materials.
- Ensures student questions are answered in either an in-person or virtual format; assists students with technical issues as needed.
- Takes student attendance before and after class to ensure correct roster attendance; ensures correct tracking of hours for billing purposes.
- Assists students in any way to create a positive learning environment.
- Completes other administrative tasks as needed.
