Job Overview:
The Network Operations Center (NOC) Operator will be responsible for monitoring multiple systems using dashboards such as SolarWinds, AppDynamics, and ODT consoles. The role requires a strong understanding of networks and a willingness to learn batch processing and file transfers. This position provides Level 1 support for Cisco Infrastructure, VMware, and other systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor systems and networks to ensure optimal performance and adherence to operating standards.
- Track and oversee data file transmissions for daily batch processing and third-party vendor interactions.
- Respond promptly to alerts via email, text, or phone to prevent service outages.
- Provide L0/L1 support for batch execution, FTP transmissions, and branch network monitoring.
- Develop automation tools and frameworks to enhance operational efficiency and detect anomalies.
- Implement scripting and automation solutions for common alert resolutions.
- Support the integration between SolarWinds and the ServiceDesk ticketing system.
- Manage production schedules for batch processing on mainframe systems.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and escalate system malfunctions as needed.
- Log and document incidents, resolutions, and key communications using the ServiceNow platform.
- Interpret system console messages, network feeds, and application alerts, taking corrective action when necessary.
Required Skills:
- Experience with build automation tools such as UiPath.
- Knowledge of Windows Server Active Directory, VMware, and Dell/EMC storage platforms.
- Hands-on experience managing SolarWinds Network Management Systems.
- Ability to resolve identified vulnerabilities based on defined security standards.
- Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications, including email, word processing, spreadsheets, and ticketing systems.
- Capability to communicate effectively with on-call employees, back-office teams, and third-party vendors.
Required Experience:
- High school diploma or GED with at least 2 years of experience in monitoring network and server functions using dashboards and automation tools.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Systems Administrator.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, ServiceNow experience, and/or CCNA Certification preferred.
