Employment Horizons, a non-profit organization, is seeking a Culinary Arts Instructor. Your primary role in this position will be to train people with disabilities in culinary arts techniques, food preparation, cooking, and meal service. You will monitor and motivate participants to ensure they are given significant opportunities to succeed and excel in the program. The Instructor will also assist with the daily operations of the Café Horizons cafeteria. In this role, you would work Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 2:00 PM. This position is Part-time.
Benefits: Generous paid time off including 15 holidays, 18 vacation days, and 10 sick days.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications

High School diploma
-
Two or more years employment in food preparation and/or cooking industry

Strong hands-on teaching skills to individuals and small groups

Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills

Excellent time management skills

Ability in multitasking

Ability to work independently and in a team environment with minimal supervision

Ability to work under stress and maintain an even temperament

Excellent frustration tolerance and adaptability

ServSafe Food Handler certification or willingness to obtain

CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain
Preferred Qualifications

Secondary or post-secondary formal culinary training

Experience working with special needs population

Valid driver’s license

Cash register experience and money-handling skills
