The Assistant Director of Compliance will be responsible for ensuring statutory and regulatory compliance for federal and state financial aid as well as assist in the coordination and development of institutional policies and procedures. This position is part of the office’s leadership team and will work directly with the Director and Associate Director to lead office staff and oversee the effective administration of all financial aid programs.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee the administration of key internal processes such as Satisfactory Academic Progress, Return of Title IV funds, and Verification.
- Provide quality assurance reviews for federal financial aid packages and other financial aid processes as well as perform independent research into complex compliance scenarios.
- Research federal regulations, including Electronic Announcements, Dear Colleague Letters, and Federal Student Aid Handbook.
- Track pending legislation and provide information to financial aid and student success leadership.
- Direct the implementation of written office policies and procedures.
- Author updates to the office’s policy and procedures manual in response to new or changing federal compliance requirements as well as changes in state and institutional student aid policies.
- Collaborate with other ESU Offices on institutional policy and process development that supports federal financial aid regulatory requirements.
- Other duties as assigned such as assisting with New Aid Year Set Up, collecting data used in audits, contributing to staff training, and developing internal and external communications.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required Qualifications:
- Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or a related field, and at least three years of relevant, professional experience.
- Master's Degree may substitute for some of the required experience.

Previous experience using Ellucian Banner, or similar information system technology, is preferred.
COMPENSATION:
- Salary: $55,297 - $60,000 annually
- Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
