RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide leadership and management for all functions associated with maintenance, custodial and facilities in the Memorial Union
- Responsible for and performs maintenance and repair on infrastructure of the Memorial Union including service equipment for the food service vendor.
- Manage day-to-day operation of maintenance department, including prioritizing and scheduling maintenance and repairs, preventive maintenance, and calculate and estimate costs.
- Responsible for the supervision of the facilities specialist and student employee. Assign daily work schedules, evaluate job performance. Develop and maintain control measures over work safety practices and care of equipment, tools, and supplies.
- Oversee the custodial department of the Memorial Union by meeting with the custodial supervisor covering topics related to custodial equipment, building cleanliness, staff development and/or improvement need issues, and necessary inventories related to supplies and equipment.
- Assist Director in planning of major or large-scale remodeling and construction projects by projecting timeline, cost of supplies and outline methods and installation procedures. Responsible for obtaining cost estimates for all major projects and repairs. Facilitate the State Fire Marshal visit and follow-up paperwork.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma or GED and 5 years of experience,
- Ability to lift 50 pounds frequently
- Comfort working in a dormitory setting
- Standing or walking for 7 or more hours per shift
- Movements that require manual dexterity, trunk strength, wrist-finger movement
- Ability to respond positively and quickly to resident and guest needs
- Assist with deep summer cleaning of residence halls
COMPENSATION:
- Salary: $23.12 hourly
