Maintenance Technician – Warehousing $24 - $26/hr
Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Technician to join our warehousing team. This role is critical to ensuring the seamless operation of our facilities, equipment, and production lines. The successful candidate will be responsible for general building maintenance, as well as performing preventative and corrective maintenance on forklifts, packaging lines, and other essential warehouse equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- General Building Maintenance
- Conduct routine inspections of the facility to identify and address maintenance needs, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and structural repairs.
- Respond to and resolve maintenance requests in a timely and efficient manner.
- Ensure compliance with building safety standards and regulations.
- Equipment Maintenance
- Perform preventative maintenance on forklifts, including battery checks, lubrication, and safety inspections.
- Conduct regular maintenance and troubleshooting on packaging lines to minimize downtime and ensure operational efficiency.
- Maintain other warehouse equipment, such as conveyors, pallet jacks, and dock levelers.
- Preventative Maintenance Programs
- Develop and execute preventative maintenance schedules for all facility and equipment assets.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.
- Monitor equipment performance and recommend proactive repairs or replacements.
- Safety and Compliance
- Ensure all maintenance activities adhere to safety protocols and OSHA regulations.
- Identify and mitigate potential hazards to create a safe working environment.
- Train staff on proper equipment usage and basic troubleshooting as needed.
- Inventory and Parts Management
- Maintain an inventory of spare parts and tools required for routine and emergency maintenance.
- Coordinate with vendors to order replacement parts and supplies as needed.
- Monitor and manage maintenance costs to align with budgetary goals.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; vocational training or technical certifications in maintenance, mechanics, or a related field preferred.
- Experience:
- 2-4 years of experience in maintenance roles, preferably within a warehousing, manufacturing, or distribution environment.
- Hands-on experience with forklift maintenance and packaging line equipment.
- Skills:
- Strong troubleshooting and mechanical skills.
- Basic understanding of electrical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
- Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) is a plus.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
