POSITION TITLE: Human Resources Coordinator
REPORTS TO: Human Resources Manager
POSITIONS SUPERVISED: None
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
PURPOSE: The Human Resources (“HR”) Coordinator assists the HR Manager by providing services relating to employee recruitment, hiring, retention, assessment, records, employee relations, payroll, benefits, and compliance.
EDUCATION REQUIRED: Associates or Bachelors degree in Human Resources or related field, or a combination of education and equivalent work experience is required. Ideally one year of human resources experience with a focus in recruiting/onboarding preferred.
CREDENTIALS REQUIRED: None; PHR certification preferred.

Specific Duties, Competencies, Responsibilities, and Behaviors
- Demonstrate familiarity in the application of human resources principles and EEO, ORC/OAC, FLSA and DOL laws
- Facilitate and implement all phases of the recruitment process; manage the talent acquisition process, including posting job vacancies and sourcing new recruiting opportunities; creatively source for open positions and develop proactive recruiting techniques
- Screen candidates by conducting telephone and/or online interviews with applicants and scheduling interviews with hiring managers; oversee preparation of interview questions and other hiring and selection materials
- Identify, manage, and attend networking events to source talent and build a pipeline of candidates
- Collaborate with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings
- Use traditional and non-traditional resources to identify and attract quality candidates such as career fairs, on-line job fairs, community network events, Facebook, Twitter, Glassdoor, etc.
- Establish relationships with local colleges and other recruiting sources
- Extend job offers and coordinate start dates for new hire orientation; inform candidates of progress and outcomes throughout the recruitment process, ensuring that appropriate communication is sent at each stage within agreed timescales
- Collaborate with HR Manager to identify and draft and/or update accurate job descriptions and hiring criteria
- Manage candidate activity using recruiting tools and platforms
- Gather and analyze metrics on effectiveness of recruiting plans and strategies
- Perform offboarding according to agency procedures.
- Update and maintain employee files in accordance with compliance records management
- Conduct new hire orientation and other HR duties as required
- Maintain confidentiality of protected information during employment and post-employment
- Complete all documentation following all requirements and deadlines and protocols
- Handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff
- Assists with all HR duties such as processing payroll, benefit administration, special projects, such as maintaining HR databases
- Demonstrate proficiency in computer programs, but not limited to, G-Suite, Microsoft Word, Excel, and office specific programs
