PURPOSE: The Maintenance Technician is responsible for general cleaning and maintenance of assigned buildings, building premises, and vehicles, if applicable. This person must be reliable, able to move between locations, and pass a drug screen.

Specific Duties, Competencies, Responsibilities, and Behaviors
- Perform general, daily cleaning/sanitizing duties, including spot cleaning/sanitizing bathrooms throughout the day (and according to the cleaning schedule), emptying trash and changing liners, cleaning entrance doors and windows, vacuuming, sweeping and mopping floors, and wiping down other areas such as common areas, lobbies, kitchens, doorknobs, and countertops
- Monitor levels of supplies needed and communicate when supplies need to be restocked; maintain custodial closets, tool rooms, and storage rooms and all material contained within including MSDS forms and updating safety binder as needed
- Restock bathroom and kitchen supplies daily and as needed throughout the day
- Submit cleaning log to supervisor following designated schedule
- Clean spills and bodily fluids as needed throughout the day
- Complete special projects and complete modified task lists, and clean other areas of buildings as assigned
- Clean building windows following the designated schedule, and clean cobwebs, remove dead bugs, etc.
- Repair outdoor play equipment, ensure equipment is properly stored at end of each day
- Sanitize toys and play equipment both indoor and outdoor at least weekly
- Perform small-scale mechanical maintenance, such as fixing door knobs and latches, running toilets, patching drywall holes, interior painting, etc.
- Move furniture and material and sets up for special events
- Sweep/shovel sidewalks daily, distribute salt on sidewalks and in parking lot to prevent falls during icy weather
- Know and implement building specific safety procedures such as when to call 911, walkie for emergency help, who to contact during an emergency, how to safely exit the building following the exit maps, where to find the first aid kit and first aid supplies, etc; relay the safety expectations to individuals entering the building
- Clean touched surfaces regularly including but not limited to countertops, door handles, chair arm rests, supply items such as hand sanitizer bottle pumps and pens after each use and actively attend to persons in the front desk and lobby areas to identify and clean surfaces that are touched
- Keep safety supplies stocked and in a central location and available at each check-in station
- Perform building and fire safety inspections monthly and complete documentation
- Meet delivery person and vendors when the arrive and manage certain vendors such as HVAC, janitorial, and plumbing companies
- Make purchases for needed supplies and manages a budget
- Document time worked in the company timekeeping systems
