What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bilingual Substitute Teacher (Spanish)- Employment Pool position at Empower Language Academy?
Under the direction of an administrator, in the absence of the classroom teacher, provide instruction, encourage student progress and manage the learning environment. Demonstrate professional practices in teaching using the course of study and lesson plan provided by the regular classroom teacher.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
The substitute is responsible for the full schedule of the regular teacher.
This includes the classroom day, clubs, physical education, study halls, yard duty, and any special duties performed by the absent teacher:
APPLICATION PROCEDURE:
1. Letter of interest.
2. Resume with references.
3. Two letters of recommendation dated within the last three years.
4. Completed On-line EdJoin Application.
5. Multi-Subject Credential with BCLAD or equivalent, OR 30 Day Sub Permit required.
All applicants should have fingerprint clearance from the Department of Justice and on file with SDCOE.
Tuberculin skin test before employment and every four years thereafter or a chest x-ray.
- Implements lessons plans, while ensuring the integrity of the academic time
- Collects homework and student assignments as directed for the regular
- Correct papers and list grades for the regular teacher;
- Maintains and respects confidentiality of student and school personnel
- Maintains a discipline and classroom control that fosters a safe and positive
- Reports all student injuries, accidents and illnesses to the proper school
- Follows directives from school administrators regarding attendance, discipline,
- Reports to the Main Office upon arrival at school, meets with the school
- Requests clarification of school rules and district policies, if necessary;
- Leave the regular teacher a report of work done in the plan book, especially if
- Returns the room keys to the school administrative assistant and instructional
- Perform related duties as assigned.
