Position Overview:
We’re seeking a Sr. Director on our Media Strategy team who is passionate about media strategy and planning and growing a team. You’ll stand out if you have a proven track record of leading clients through new strategies and elevating the work product to over deliver on client expectations, all while leading and mentoring your team. You will be responsible for the strategic work on at least one assigned client(s) while providing oversight and guidance to a portfolio of clients and the supporting team members.
Responsibilities:
- Lead media strategy and plan development on assigned account(s) including research, strategy development and measurement framework. Oversees tactical plan development and guides team through the process and deliverable.
- Acts as a key client contact and ensures Empower’s best work is represented, and client expectations are met or exceeded
- Has a strong understanding of the tools and processes used to develop media strategies and plans and can guide teams on how/when to use and best practices associated with each
- Provide additional planning oversight and quality control for a Director and team members across a portfolio of accounts to elevate work and enforce best practices and planning consistency
- Leadership and management of planning team assigned to account portfolio including performance and workload
- Building team morale and a support system to facilitate work sharing, innovation, and recognition for quality work
- Support department level efforts by ensuring standards and goals are being met on across portfolio
- Work closely with department lead for overall department management by way of supporting efforts such as training, tool review, process, and best practice development
- Develop and promote thought leadership for pertinent accounts or in service of larger department initiatives
- Promote Empower’s culture and values, internally and externally
- Participate in new business
Qualifications:
- 10 year’s experience in media planning and strategy
- Proven strategic and people leadership
- Ability to challenge the norm and lead clients towards innovative and effective solutions
- Ability to motivate others to do great work and address performance concerns in the moment
- Cross-functional mindset applied on assigned client work but also to influence IP collaboration across the agency
- Ability to work with employees at all levels within in the department to foster a spirit of teamwork
- Presence in office as aligned to current protocols, ability to travel as needed
