Position Summary

The Project Engineer II - Facility role drives impactful projects that enhance Empower's ability to deliver high-quality, affordable medications. This position ensures regulatory compliance, innovative solutions, and collaborative efforts to support healthier, happier lives.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develops and manages deliverables for engineering projects, including Capital Acquisition Requests, Project Scope, Schedule, and Budget, while overseeing documentation and budgets for smaller initiatives.
  • Provides engineering expertise to guide project designs, create specifications such as User Requirement and Piping Specifications, and ensure design and functional integrity.
  • Conducts equipment qualification and validation (Factory Acceptance Test, Site Acceptance Test, Installation Qualification, Operational Qualification) and ensures compliance with regulatory guidance for compounding pharmacies and outsourcing facilities.
  • Coordinates with contractors and vendors to secure materials and resolve project challenges, maintaining alignment with requirements and timelines.
  • Supports preventative maintenance programs, facility modifications, project shutdowns, and safety assessments, ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards.

 

While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is often required to remain in a stationary position for a significant amount of the workday and frequently use their hands and fingers to handle or feel in order to access, input, and retrieve information from the computer and other office productivity devices. The employee is regularly required to move about the office and around the corporate campus. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.


Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong communication, problem-solving, planning, and teamwork skills are essential, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to varied workloads in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with preferred experience in AutoCAD, facility operations, engineering, and coordination of engineering consultants, vendors, and contractors in pharmaceutical or biopharma industries.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience applying engineering principles in facility design and equipment, including Boilers, Chillers, Plumbing, Water Systems, Compressed Air, Process Gases, Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Electrical, within a Current Good Manufacturing Practice-compliant environment required.
  • Bachelor of Science in Chemical, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering is required.
  • Professional Engineer license preferred.
