Position Summary

In the dynamic environment of Empower Pharmacy, the Sales Compensation Specialist role is pivotal in ensuring that our sales teams are motivated and rewarded in alignment with our core values of people, service, quality, and innovation. This position plays a critical role in developing and implementing competitive compensation strategies that drive performance and foster a culture of excellence. By collaborating with stakeholders and providing expert guidance, the Sales Compensation Specialist helps shape a fair and motivating compensation philosophy that supports Empower’s mission and strategic goals. 

 

In this role, you will design and develop sales compensation plans that align with our company’s objectives, ensuring that they are both competitive and effective in motivating our sales teams. You will analyze sales performance data to evaluate the effectiveness of existing plans, making informed recommendations to enhance performance and achieve sales targets. Your expertise will be crucial in benchmarking jobs against market data to determine competitive compensation ranges, providing essential support on commission calculations, promotional adjustments, and other pay-related changes. 

 

You will also conduct regular reviews of compensation plans to ensure they remain competitive and aligned with industry best practices. Your ability to build and maintain strong relationships with business leaders across Human Resources, Finance, and other departments will be essential in ensuring effective collaboration on compensation matters. Additionally, you will manage compensation projects from design to execution, including modeling, project planning, communication, and training, to ensure successful implementation and ongoing support.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with stakeholders to advance our sales compensation philosophy, providing critical guidance and support to business leaders.  
  • Designs, develops, and implements sales compensation plans that align with company goals and objectives, ensuring competitiveness and motivation for sales teams.  
  • Analyzes sales performance data to evaluate the effectiveness of existing compensation plans, making recommendations for improvements to drive performance and achieve targets.  
  • Works closely with business leaders to benchmark jobs against survey data and market intelligence, determining competitive compensation ranges for each position.  
  • Provides ongoing support on commission calculations, promotional adjustments, and other pay-related changes, responding to ad hoc requests promptly and efficiently.  
  • Conducts regular reviews of compensation plans to ensure competitiveness in the market and alignment with industry best practices, adjusting, as necessary.  
  • Builds and maintains relationships with business leaders in HR, finance, and other departments to ensure effective collaboration on compensation matters.  
  • Maintains internal request system, providing initial support to the sales team in a consultative and timely manner.  
  • Reviews industry compensation data and conducts multiple salary surveys to make recommendations annually.  
  • Assists in the administration of short and long-term incentive programs, including record keeping, reporting, and communication to participants.  
  • Manages compensation projects from design to execution, including modeling, project planning, communication, and training.  
  • Works collaboratively with stakeholders to achieve compensation objectives, ensuring alignment with broader organizational goals.  
  • Serves as a liaison with outside vendors in the management of survey data, consulting projects, and compensation programs.  
  • Provides territory performance analysis as it relates to compensation plans, identifying issues and opportunities for improvement.   
  • Performs other related duties as assigned, contributing to the overall effectiveness of the Sales team.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Requires a minimum of 5 years of broad-based compensation experience with a minimum of 3 years of design and maintenance specifically around Sales Incentive Plans.
