Position Summary

The Dispensing Supervisor works closely with colleagues across various departments to ensure efficient and effective customer service. By overseeing inventory control, ensuring safe storage, and handling of prescription drugs, and developing team schedules, the Supervisor maintains the operational flow and upholds our rigorous safety standards. Additionally, this role is responsible for delivering initial and ongoing training to pharmacy technicians and trainees, ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures, including safety protocols.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Leads and supervises a team of dispensing technicians, providing guidance, coaching, and support to ensure optimal performance.
- Delivers a high level of customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Works collaboratively with colleagues and departments to ensure seamless and efficient customer service.
- Ensures the safe storage and handling of prescriptions drugs, including hazardous drugs and controlled substances.
- Develops team schedules and adjusts daily assignments to optimize workflow, ensuring efficient resource allocation and timely completion of tasks.
- Oversees inventory control and implements first in, first out (FIFO) procedures to ensure product quality and minimize waste.
- Oversees the delivery of initial and ongoing training for Pharmacy Technicians and Trainees to ensure they are well-equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge.
- Ensures that all Pharmacy Technicians and Trainees follow established policies and procedures, including safety procedures.
- Oversees front clerks and supervises cash drawer(s) closing.
- Addresses and works to resolve customer conflicts and complaints, escalating to the manager as needed to ensure prompt and satisfactory resolution.
- Reports and investigates employee-related issues, escalating to the manager when necessary to ensure appropriate resolution.
- Monitors and evaluates the performance of pharmacy technicians and trainees, providing feedback and guidance to ensure high standards are maintained.
- Upholds company expectations and standards across all customer service disciplines.
- Assists with dispensing tech and/or clerk duties when necessary.
- Efficiently navigates multiple internal computer systems maintaining seamless operations and accurate information management.

Knowledge and Skills
- Thorough knowledge of Texas pharmacy laws and regulations.

Experience and Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 2 years of management experience required.
