Position Summary

This position plays a pivotal role in Empower’s commitment to excellence in pharmaceutical manufacturing, ensuring that every product meets our stringent standards for safety, quality, and efficacy. As a supervisor in Sterile Manufacturing, you will oversee the production of critical medications, ensuring not only regulatory compliance but also the highest levels of performance and safety for our patients. Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervises the manufacture of products, ensuring production, performance, safety, and quality standards are consistently met.
  • Prepares shift schedule in collaboration with shift leads and supervises day-to-day activities of Sterile Manufacturing Operators.
  • Drafts, implements, and maintains standard operating procedures and other technical documents for process equipment, and manufacturing processes.
  • Develops and implements effective workflow processes that enhance our manufacturing capabilities while ensuring continuous compliance with current good manufacturing practice (cGMP) regulations.
  • Completes shift reports, tracking production progress and downtime/trouble time.
  • Investigates and resolves problems, identifying root cause, and proposing process improvements through clear communication to leadership.
  • Schedules and oversees initial and ongoing training of new and existing workforce personnel.
  • Provides results-oriented leadership that drives continuous improvement consistent with the organization’s production strategy.
  • Develops and mentors team members to enhance their skills and professional growth.
  • Monitors the performance of team members, provides feedback, and conducts performance appraisals. Coaches, guides, and motivates team members in need of development and administers disciplinary processes when necessary.
  • Participates in the hiring process including interviewing, training, and onboarding new employees.
  • Promotes a collaborative work environment and positive company culture.
  • Other duties as assigned.

While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is often required to remain stationary for a significant amount of the workday and frequently use their hands and fingers to handle or feel to access, input, and retrieve information from the computer and other office productivity devices. The employee is required to stand for most of the duration of the shift (5 days/8 hours) and to move about the office and around the corporate campus. The employee must stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision. Employee must be able to lift 50 lbs. The employee must be able to wear proper personal protective equipment, including but not limited to scrubs, hair net, beard cover, shoe cover, gloves, N-95 mask, safety glasses, lab gown, full body coverall, full-face and/or half-face respirators while performing their daily tasks in Non-Sterile Hazardous and Non-Hazardous Lab controlled environments.

  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Teams, One-Drive, SharePoint).

Experience and Qualifications

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associate’s degree is preferred. 
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Compounding Pharmacy Technician and/or manufacturing operator.
  • Minimum 1 year experience with cGMP or similarly regulated environment required.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience directly supervising employees, including hiring, developing, motivating, and directing employees, preferred.
