- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 2 years of recent insurance verification experience
- 2 years of prior and retro authorizations
- 2 years of medical claim billing experience
- Prior electronic medical records (EMR) experience; WebPT preferred
- Proficient in MS Outlook, Excel & Word or Office365
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally through speaking, listening and writing in person, phone or email
- Demonstrates the ability to follow departmental procedures and instruction of professional staff
- Excellent customer service skills
- Knowledge of basic health and government health care plans, insurance rules and contracts
- Medical office terminology highly desired
- Excellent and accurate data entry skills
- Medical Coding Certification and/or Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) a plus
- Self-motivated with general supervision
- Organizational and detail-oriented skills
- Great time management and multi-tasking skills
- Knowledge of PHI and HIPAA compliance

- This job operates in an outpatient clinic environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer

- Occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds
- Frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms
