Program Overview
Our ground-breaking 2025 Paid Relational Organizing program will generate 1,200,000 relational conversations with 400,000 Wisconsin voters about the Spring 2025 state Supreme Court election.
This program will:
- Initiate relational conversations with hundreds of thousands of people.
- Build a rapid-response network of trusted messengers to fight back against disinformation.
- Aim to engage thousands of sporadic and sometimes new voters for the upcoming election.
Job Description
[REMOTE] - The Regional Organizing Directors will lead a team of Community Organizers for statewide paid relational organizing programs.
The RODs will onboard, train, monitor metrics for, and coach Organizers, as well as conduct related administrative tasks. Critically, they will also facilitate large-scale trainings alongside the organizing staff, ensuring the smooth flow of operations and maximum impact of each event. The Organizers in each region will be responsible for building a universe of paid Community Mobilizers (CMs) to conduct 4-10 calls to action before the 2025 Wisconsin Spring Election on April 1. RODs will be responsible for the combined outputs of each of their direct reports during each of these cycles of outreach. RODs will also be expected to create a positive and safe work environment, and to address the daily tasks of the campaign with flexibility and creativity.
Core Responsibilities
- Recruitment and screening to evaluate and hire Community Organizers applicants
- Each ROD will manage and lead a team of up to 10 Organizers and foster a supportive team culture of excellence and accountability
- Ensure all Organizers and CM data is entered in a timely fashion, meeting program-wide standards
- RODs will direct organizing staff during large-scale trainings, managing key elements of technology, presentation and team coordination
- Following the onboarding of each wave of Organizers, maintain a regular 1:1 meeting schedule with direct reports
- Ensure that all program requirements are well-communicated by reviewing and contributing to published materials
- Monitor the results of various accountability and organizing approaches and and share best practices with peers and Empower Project leadership
- Collect critical feedback on training materials from Organizers and CMs and deliver to Empower Project leadership in order to improve support materials
- Support Empower Project leadership in monitoring and identifying trends in the CM recruitment pipeline
- Other tasks as assigned by Empower Project leadership
Additional consideration will be given to candidates who have existing relationships in one of the ten states or are fluent in a second language, including Spanish.
Compensation
This is a full-time, remote, salaried position starting on February 10, 2025 and lasting through April 7, 2025.
The work schedule is six days per week with Saturdays off. RODs will work Sunday - Thursdays 11am - 8:45pm Central. Fridays are a shortened schedule, ending at 5:45pm Central.
We will also work the full week before the April election.
The salary for this position is $7,000/month plus healthcare benefits and 2 paid sick days.
