Summary
As the Director of Quality Assurance at Empower, you will be instrumental in overseeing our quality assurance processes and ensuring compliance with industry standards. The QA Director is responsible for the Agency's overall quality assurance including the Agencey's Incident Investigation process. The QA Director serves as a member of the senior management team and works under the general direction of the CFO/ Executive Director. This leadership role is vital in maintaining our commitment to delivering exceptional services to individuals with disabilities while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive quality assurance policies and procedures. Must know OPWDD and the Justice Center regulations, and incident reporting.
- Review all incident reports/investigations prior to the Special Incident Review Committee (SIRC) meetings, anticipate and resolve any issues, questions prior to the meeting
- Maintain internal system for monitoring recommendations and corrective actions for serious reportable incidents, allegations of abuse, reportable and minors. Manage data and provide reports to the CFO/ Executive Director as requested.
- Provide in-service training on 624 regulations and incident reporting as needed/ requested by senior management.
- Serve as a liaison with DDSO, CQC and MHLS by responding in a timely manner to requests for information. Provide monthly status to DDSO of all open cases. Assure notification of closure of cases to CQC and MHLS. Provide clarification/follow-up to investigator regarding any reopened cases.
- Lead training initiatives on quality assurance practices for team members.
- Prepare reports on quality metrics and present findings to senior management.
- Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes affecting quality assurance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree Human Services or relevant field; advanced degree preferred.
- Proven experience in quality assurance or quality control within a nonprofit or healthcare setting.
- Strong knowledge of State and Federal regulations as they relate to MR/DD population.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data.
- 2 years leadership abilities with experience in managing teams effectively.
- 5 years' experience working with MR/DD population.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement.
