JOB SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Program Manager/Special Event Coordinator will take primary responsibility for planning and execution of a variety of events, programs, and philanthropic fundraisers throughout Northeast Ohio designed to bring those with epilepsy together for education, fellowship, and support. This staff person will also play a role in the coordination of event solicitation mailings, organization and maintenance of event participation in the database, proper acknowledgement of contributions, and donor and sponsor research. Key responsibility and measurable goal will be to drive awareness, participation and attendance at all events.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan, organize, and execute special events as part of an effort to create/maintain a caring epilepsy community.
  • Focus on special events, social media, event management, and event strategy to attract new, current, and previous event attendees.
  • Solicit event sponsorship opportunities and auction item donation requests to pharmaceutical companies, businesses, companies and community organizations throughout the Northeast Ohio area.
  • Market event information on website, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Twitter accounts.
  • Market event information to Epilepsy Centers, libraries, community centers, and other potential locations to share event information/flyers with the general public.
  • Coordinate participation in health and wellness fairs across Northeast Ohio to promote brand exposure.
  • Recruit and coordinate volunteers to assist at booths and special events.
  • Support logistics coordination for annual conferences.
  • In partnership with Executive Director and VP of Marketing, coordinate event marketing strategies.
  • Record event donors, manage solicitation mailings, track event registrations/attendees and coordinate proper acknowledgement process through our donor database.
  • Develop and maintain the calendar of upcoming events and fundraising opportunities.
  • Events include the Gunselman’s Tavern Leprechaun Chase 5K & 1 Mile Walk/Run, 4 annual Purple Day Bowling Parties, booths at a variety of health and wellness fairs, the Cleveland Marathon, The Power of Purple Fundraiser, a TopGolf Fundraiser, Pottery Painting Parties, Brain Surgery Conference, Empower Your Life Conference, SUDEP Action Day Talk, and The HeART of Epilepsy Fundraiser.

Performs other related duties as assigned.


REQUIRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Valid Driver’s License required.
  • Five years of experience desired in non-profit event management.
  • Must be independent and self-motivated, and support a fast-paced work environment that requires attention to detail, flexibility, and ability to problem-solve on the go.
  • Must demonstrate a willingness to work in multiple locations and remotely, as well as impeccable scheduling and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills
  • Strong ability to organize and prioritize work to meet rigid deadlines.
  • The ability to be flexible, as events do not always happen within regular business hours.
  • A desire to learn about epilepsy and understand and appreciate the importance of the mission.
  • Able to work independently in and out of the office environment based on job task. (ie some tasks will require driving to hospitals or other locations)


Job Type: Full-time


Salary : $41,000 - $45,000
