Job Summary
The Activities Director plays a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for residents in our Adult Day Care program. This position is responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing engaging activities that cater to the diverse interests and abilities of our clients. The Activities Director will work closely with staff, residents, and their families to create a vibrant community atmosphere that promotes social interaction and emotional well-being.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive activities program tailored to the needs of the clients.
- Plan and coordinate events that encourage social engagement, cognitive stimulation, and physical activity.
- Collaborate with caregivers and social workers to ensure activities are aligned with individual care plans.
- Manage schedules for activities to maximize participation while accommodating residents' varying abilities.
- Conduct assessments of residents’ interests and abilities to tailor activities effectively.
- Facilitate communication between residents, families, and staff regarding upcoming events and resident participation.
- Maintain accurate records of participation in activities and gather feedback for continuous improvement.
- Ensure a safe environment for all activities by adhering to health and safety regulations.
Skills
- Proven experience in event planning within a healthcare or caregiving setting.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and team members.
- Ability to manage schedules efficiently while being flexible to meet the needs of residents.
- Experience in social work or related fields is highly desirable.
- Compassionate approach towards caregiving with a focus on enhancing clients well-being.
- To respect each individual’s right to independence and privacy.
- Required at least three years experience in activities coordination or therapeutic recreation for the aged and/or disabled.
- High School Diploma required

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $41,200.00 - $45,000.00 per year
