The HR Rep. assists the department with data entry, record retention, and administration to ensure actions are in-line with local, state and federal employment laws.

Job Purpose:
The primary function of this role is to assist in the day-to-day functions of the Human Resources (HR) department supporting staff onboarding, record keeping, and off-boarding. The HR Rep. assists the department with data entry, record retention, and administration to ensure actions are in-line with local, state and federal employment laws.
Essential Functions:
- Maintains electronic records ensuring completion and accuracy of detail such as employee contact information, job classification, pay rates, organizational structure, and other key details in the Human Resources Information System (HRIS).
- Performs timely data entry of status changes, payrate adjustments, work assignment changes and terminations.
- Facilitates all new hire onboarding process (new hire paperwork, backgrounds checks, cleared to work status).
- Conducts I-9 and staff onboarding orientations.
- Monitors for completion of staff learning plans via Learning Management System (LMS).
- Enrolls newly hired staff into integrated data exchange and care management platform, eVero.
- Handles correspondence from employees, vendors and support teams in a timely and professional manner.
- Performs administrative duties.
- Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor and/or designee within scope of practice.
- Must maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion concerning all business-related matters, including but not limited to board/vendors/donors’ names, investigations, finance, operations, and employee relations matters.
- Must be willing to complete specific company required trainings as mandated by our governing agency, Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD), at time of hire and annually thereafter.

Education and Experience:
- Minimum HS Degree in related field, with minimum combined experience of three (3) yrs. related experience.
- Associate degree preferred with one (1) year of experience.
- HRIS knowledge and experience a plus!
- Microsoft Suite to include Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams
- Solid verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate with all persons supported and employees within various levels of the organization.
- Must complete required training per OPWDD within 90 days of being hired and maintain current certifications annually thereafter.
- Must be receptive to feedback; willing and interested in continuous improvement and development.
- Demonstrated ability to exhibit professional demeanor in dealing with others (both internal and external customers and colleagues); maintain constructive working relationships; use poise, tact, and diplomacy,
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, and customer requests, while meeting deadlines
- Detail oriented
- Must possess and maintain a valid NYS Driver's License; a vehicle is required for business travel
