Empowerment for Success, Inc. is an approved Maryland DDA provider serving adults and children with developmental disabilities. We are looking for caring and patient Direct Support Professionals to work one-on-one with adults with developmental disabilities in their homes and community.

We are lookingfor staff who MUST HAVE (Mandatory Requirements) the following minimum experience:
1. Experience with adults with developmental disabilities.
2. Worked 1 on 1 with adults with developmental disabilities.
3. A valid driver’s license and insurance and a reliable vehicle.
4. Ability to pass a Background Check.
5. This position is not where you do everything for the client. This position requires the applicant to have one-to-one experience working directly with individuals teaching them daily living activities and integrating them into their community. Please be sure your resume indicates this experience.
We are NOT looking for:
1. People who have only worked in nursing homes or geriatric facilities.
2. People who have only worked with children under the age of 18.

Our clients are located in Allegany, Frederick and Washington counties. If you do not live within daily driving distance from Allegany, Frederick or Washington County, please do not apply for this position.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Staff are provided with initial and ongoing training to prepare them to accomplish their job duties and responsibilities successfully.
- Provide direct care and support to adults with developmental disabilities in their home and the community.
- Perform tasks WITH the individual while teaching them the skills.
- Assist clients in developing daily living skills and working towards their person-centered goals.
- Foster positive relationships with clients and families
- Ensure client safety and promote a safe and supportive environment.
- Encourage self-help activities.
- Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance skills.
Preferred Skills:
1. Experience working with DDA clients.
2. Experience working on outcomes and goals on Person-centered plans preferred.
Work Hours & Schedule:
- Flexible scheduling based on client needs, including daytime and afternoon hours.
- There are occasional schedules for weekends and overnights.
- Opportunities to choose preferred clients and schedules.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
