As a Direct Care Worker, you will provide essential support and assistance to individuals who require assistance with daily activities due to disabilities, age, illness, or cognitive impairments. Responsibilities :
- Assist clients with personal care tasks, including bathing, grooming, dressing and toileting as needed.
- Support individuals with mobility challenges by assisting with transfers, ambulation, and positioning.
- Administer medication according to prescribed schedules and document accurately.
- Assist with meal preparation, feeding, and monitoring dietary requirements.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a nurturing and positive environment.
- Perform light housekeeping tasks, such as tidying living spaces, laundry and dishwashing.
- Accompany clients to appointments, outings, and recreational activites, ensuring their safety and enjoyment.
- Observe and report any changes in clients' physical or mental health status to appropriate healthcare professionals.
- Maintain accurate records of care provided, including daily activity logs and incident reports.
- Adhere to all ethical and legal standards, respecting clients' rights to privacy, dignity and autonomy.
- Participate in training and continuing education programs to enhance skills and knowledge in caregiving practices.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including healthcare professionals, family members, and social workers, to develop and implement individualized care plans.
