Job Overview
Seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Parts Manager to oversee the Parts department. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge and a proven track record in inventory control, customer service, and supplier management. This role is critical in ensuring that our operations run smoothly by managing the sourcing and distribution of parts, particularly in the agricultural and/or automotive sector.
Duties
- Manage daily operations of the parts department, including inventory control and warehouse organization.
- Negotiate with suppliers to secure favorable terms and pricing for OEM parts.
- Oversee sourcing activities to ensure timely availability of required parts for service and repair operations.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, orders, and deliveries using AS400 or similar systems.
- Provide exceptional customer service by assisting technicians and customers with their parts needs.
- Implement best practices for warehouse management to optimize space and efficiency.
- Monitor stock levels and conduct regular audits to prevent shortages or overstock situations.
- Collaborate with other departments to forecast demand and adjust inventory accordingly.
Qualifications
- On-site position
- Proven experience in a parts management role or similar position within the agricultural equipment and/or automotive industry is preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to understand technical specifications of parts.
- Proficiency in inventory control systems, preferably SAP or equivalent software.
- Excellent negotiation skills to manage supplier relationships effectively.
- Demonstrated ability in customer service with a focus on building lasting relationships.
- Experience in warehouse management practices is highly desirable.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to multitask effectively.
