Key Responsibilities:
- Data Collection & Validation:
- Gather and compile data from multiple sources while ensuring its accuracy and completeness.
- Verify and validate data to maintain its integrity and reliability.
- Data Analysis:
- Analyze large datasets using SQL and other analytical tools to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies.
- Provide actionable insights through detailed analysis and data interpretation.
- Prepare and present reports to summarize key findings and trends.
- Data Distribution:
- Utilize existing models to verify and distribute critical business information.
- Enhance and update models to meet evolving business needs and improve daily operations.
- Data Visualization:
- Create clear, effective, and visually appealing data visualizations (charts, graphs, dashboards) to communicate findings to non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with other departments to understand data needs and provide data-driven support.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive data-driven decision-making across the organization.
- Documentation:
- Document data analysis methodologies, processes, and results for future reference.
- Contribute to the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Continuous Learning:
- Stay current with industry trends, tools, and best practices in data analysis.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance your skills.
- Required:
- 1-2 years of professional experience in data analysis.
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Strong proficiency in SQL (experience writing complex queries, joins, and data manipulation).
- Familiarity with data analysis tools such as Excel, Knime, Python, or R.
- Ability to interpret data trends and patterns and provide actionable insights.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex findings in a clear, concise manner.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Preferred:
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau.
- Basic knowledge of machine learning concepts.
- Experience in data cleaning and preprocessing techniques.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel formulas such as INDEX, MATCH, V/HLOOKUPS, and pivot tables (macros are a plus).
- Work will generally be performed in a traditional office environment at our corporate office in Camden, NJ, with occasional travel to our scrap metal recycling facilities.
- Working hours may vary, including early mornings, evenings, or weekends as needed.
- The position may require light physical work, including lifting and carrying light weights.
- Travel requires the ability to drive and use a personal vehicle.
