EMR is seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Mobile Shear Operator to join our team. Key Responsibilities:
- Operate mobile shear equipment to safely and efficiently cut and process ferrous and non-ferrous scrap metal.
- Adjust shear settings based on material type, size, and output specifications.
- Conduct daily inspections and routine maintenance on mobile shears and related equipment.
- Follow all safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe handling of hazardous materials.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support operational goals.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience operating mobile shear equipment or similar heavy machinery, preferably in a metal recycling or industrial setting.
- Knowledge of metal types, grades, and recycling processes is highly desirable.
- Work Environment & Physical Demands:
- Work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Proximity to moving mechanical parts and exposure to loud noise (ear protection required).
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
- Frequent bending, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work in confined spaces.
