Job Summary:
EMS Management, an Industrial Services Company, is searching for a passionate and safety-driven individual to oversee our railcar cleaning and hopper car repair operations. In this position, you'll play a pivotal role in planning, developing, and managing all aspects of our railcar services, including cleaning, interior lining, and mechanical repairs. The operations manager role sometimes involves overseeing projects beyond core responsibilities. While the primary focus is managing daily railcar wash and repair operations, we are occasionally called to manage small spill response, tank cleaning projects and other industrial service activities. This is a hands-on position working both indoors and outdoors. Must be flexible to travel and available to work some weekends. This position, as well as all management positions, may require flexibility from time to time to support other business needs within the company such as fulfilling other roles and/or changing main site location.
Leadership and Safety
- Champion a culture of safety by leading and training staff on Company and Customer safety protocols, ensuring consistent and compliant execution of all tasks.
- Proactively identify and mitigate safety hazards, fostering a risk-averse work environment.
Operational Excellence
- Spearhead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of railcar cleaning activities, policies, procedures, and programs.
- Optimize operational efficiency by analyzing car flow and scheduling work to meet productivity targets.
- Conduct regular reviews of cleaning operations to identify improvement opportunities, refine processes, and ensure customer requirements are consistently exceeded.
Team Development and Customer Focus
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting continuous improvement and employee growth.
- Proactively recruit, interview, train, and develop new and existing staff, empowering them to achieve departmental and individual goals.
