Overview
We are seeking reliable and skilled drivers to join our team. We are looking to hire in the Middletown, Cincinatti area. The ideal candidate must have experience in operating vans with lifts or ramps while transporting patients. The Non-Emergency Wheelchair Driver is responsible for transporting individuals with mobility challenges safely and promptly to medical appointments, therapy sessions, or other designated locations. The role requires excellent customer service, attention to safety protocols, and the ability to assist passengers in and out of wheelchairs while ensuring their comfort and security throughout the trip.
Key Responsibilities:
- Transportation Services:
- Provide safe and timely transport for passengers in wheelchairs to and from designated locations.
- Navigate routes effectively, adhering to schedules and traffic regulations.
- Passenger Assistance:
- Assist passengers in boarding and exiting the vehicle safely, including operating wheelchair lifts and securing wheelchairs with safety equipment.
- Ensure passengers are comfortably seated and secure during transport.
- Vehicle Operation & Maintenance:
- Operate assigned vehicles, ensuring proper use of wheelchair lifts, ramps, and safety equipment.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections to check for safety and cleanliness before and after each trip.
- Report any mechanical issues or needed repairs promptly.
- Customer Service:
- Interact professionally and compassionately with passengers, caregivers, and healthcare providers.
- Address passenger needs and provide assistance as required, ensuring a positive experience.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- PASS Training Course preferred.
- Licenses/Certifications: Valid driver's license. CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
- Experience: Prior experience in non-emergency transportation, caregiving, or customer service is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit for extended periods while driving.
- Strength to assist passengers and handle wheelchairs.
- Agility to operate wheelchair lifts and securement devices.
