What are the responsibilities and job description for the Laboratory Analyst (Mycology) position at EMSL Analytical, Inc?
EMSL is seeking a Laboratory Analyst (Mycology) in Indianapolis, IN. The ideal candidate will have experience in mycology with fungal identification.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Position will be responsible for microbiology laboratory sample analysis
Preparation and analysis of Microbiological samples (air, water, and bulk materials) for fungi and bacteria
Identification of different fungal spores, bacteria, and fungi
Classical and advanced methods for microbial analysis
Maintaining the Quality Assurance/Quality Control Program, Quality Management System, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Assist with maintaining and troubleshooting equipment as needed
Other duties may be assigned to meet laboratory needs
Requirements:
Bachelors Degree in Mycology, Microbiology and/or Life Science a plus
History with mycology and fungal identification is strongly desired
Comfortable working with microscopes, analytical balances, biological safety cabinets, filtration manifolds and able to adhere to sterile technique and good laboratory practices.
Must be able to work independently and with a team.
Strong communication skills and comfort with occasional client interactions
Proficient in both MS Office and LIMS systems
Must be able to work in a fast-paced setting, multi-task, and prioritize assignments
Strong attention to detail
Willing to cross train in other microbiology disciplines
Good organizational skills
Must be able to distinguish between colors in order to perform analysis
Available Shift:
Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Monday to Friday 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Training to start will be Monday to Friday 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
