Laboratory Analyst (X-Ray Diffraction-XRD)

EMSL is seeking a Laboratory Analyst (X-Ray Diffraction-XRD) in Long Island City, NY. This role is hands on preparing and analyzing samples using XRD.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Preparation and analysis for Silica samples using XRD
Assist with other analysis in industrial hygiene as needed
Summarize the analytical data upon completion and generate final reports
Responsible for equipment maintenance and qualification, and interaction with vendor service and application support

Requirements:
Bachelors' degree in Materials Science, Geology, Metallurgy, or Forensic Science or related discipline preferred
One plus years experience of hands-on analytical experience in a commercial lab setting a plus
Completed coursework in college in mineralogy and/or an x-ray crystallography is a plus
Experience using NIOSH 7500 for silica is a plus
Ability to work independently and with a team
Ability to work in a fast-paced setting, multi-task, and prioritize assignments
Must be able to distinguish between colors to perform analysis
Effective verbal/written communication skills, self-motivated, and organized
Proficient with computers, typing, MS Office, and experience with LIMS a plus

Available Shift:
Monday to Friday 11:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
