What are the responsibilities and job description for the System Support Engineer L2 IL - TS/SCI Poly required position at EMTAK LLC?
The ideal candidate for this Level 2 System Support Engineer opportunity will have at least eight years of relevant experience in the following:
• Prior networking and Linux System Administration.
• Comfortable navigating in a terminal, running commands.
• Comfortable SSHing to servers, port forwarding/SSH tunneling.
• Comfortable using KVMs and Dell iDracs and IP iLOs for troubleshooting.
• Experience with Power, Space, and Cooling submissions and hardware procurement process.
• Experience with preliminary design and ability to explain system design.
• Experience with creating and updating engineering and RF antenna diagrams.
• Experience with Confluence/Jira for communication and documentation.
** Latest Poly has to be within 7 years of start on program
** Active IAT II CWIP / DoD 8570 compliant cert (i.e., Security )
** Bachelor’s degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related discipline from an accredited college or university
** Fourteen (14) years experience as a SE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity is required. Unable to substitute advanced degrees for years' experience or relevant Bachelors, but able to substitute 5 years additional experience (total 19 years) for missing or irrelevant Bachelors degree
Additional desired skills:
• Experience with building made to length power/network cables.
• Experience with RF system design, configuration, and troubleshooting
• Experience with supporting system over high latency, low bandwidth, denied, degraded, intermittent, limited bandwidth (DDIL) environments.
• Basic experience working with containerized applications.
The System Engineer analyzes user’s requirements, concept of operations documents, and high level system architectures to develop system requirements specifications. Analyzes system requirements and leads design and development activities. Guides users in formulating requirements, advises alternative approaches, and conducts feasibility studies. Provides technical leadership for the integration of requirements, design, and technology. Incorporates new plans, designs and systems into ongoing operations. Develops technical documentation. Develops system Architecture and system design documentation. Guides system development and implementation planning through assessment or preparation of system engineering management plans and system integration and test plans. Interacts with the Government regarding Systems Engineering technical considerations and for associated problems, issues or conflicts. Ultimate responsibility for the technical integrity of work performed and deliverables associated with the Systems Engineering area of responsibility. Communicates with other program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives.
