JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Lab Technician
Department: Quality Fletcher
Requirement Overview
Reporting to the Quality Manager, this position is a requirement for a Laboratory Technician. The appointed candidate will be responsible for assuring product and management system compliance in line with ISO9001, ISO14001 and ISO 450001 ISO 5001.
Reporting directly to the Quality Manager, the main purpose of this role is to ensure quality control testing on products ensuring compliance with Emtelle/ customer specification and international standards.
The Department and this role are tasked to assure the volume preparation and production of products and raw materials to satisfy customer requirements and then to drive continuous improvement by using manufacturing methodologies whilst maintaining KPI targets.
Role and Responsibilities
1. Follow directions of the site Quality Manager as to daily tasks and expectations for the Fletcher site and Emtelle USA
2. Process samples utilizing laboratory manual and powered equipment such as compression, tensile, EFTR and TSCR.
3. Sets the example by following & promoting all company policies and OSHA regulations for safe working procedures and environment
4. Excellent knowledge and a proven track record in problem solving, especially Root Cause Analysis and 7-step Corrective Action plans
5. Focus on corrective actions in order to make sure that products meet required specifications
6. Maintain all documentation for the purpose of auditing
7. Assist all site personnel to perform routine inspection and testing within the manufacturing process
8. Engage in quality calibrations and internal audits in a professional manner
9. Constant updating of job knowledge by reading technical publications, participating in seminars and other educational opportunities
10. Help to check and update quality control policies
11. Ability to identify issues, segregate non-conforming product, determine disposition and report out
12. Conduction process and procedure audits, with ideally familiarity of ISO9001
13. Ability to research, analyse and report within a manufacturing environment
14. Familiarity with documented management systems
15. Good communication and interpersonal skills.

The successful candidates will need to demonstrate on a sustained basis in their employment the following.
1. Well skilled in quality processes and also statistical techniques
2. Understanding and adherence in following both written and verbal work instructions.
3. Knowledge about measurement and test equipment
4. To communicate clearly with existing and potential external partners and to other staff at Emtelle, in respect to activities processes and methodologies employed in the department.
5. Highly self-motivated, disciplined and organised.
6. Time Management, they will deliver a high and sustained standard of attendance and timekeeping.
7. Able and willing to commit to working shift patterns and overtime as required.

12. In-depth understanding of chemical composition, structure, and properties of different substances and the understanding of chemical interactions.
Knowledge
1. Knowledge and relatable experience of ISO 9001
2. Minimum HS Diploma, BS preferred
Experience
1. Manufacturing experience in a comparable Lean Manufacturing environment and disciplines: Desirable
2. Knowledge and application of lean manufacturing techniques.
3. Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation.
4. Knowledge of Quality standards ISO9001, etc.
5. Strong PC skills, experience with planning tools such as ERP/MRP systems: Desirable

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $24.00 - $26.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
