We are currently seeking Full-Time Loaders to join our team of dedicated employees in Port Huron, Michigan.
Loader Responsibilities:
- Safely assist drivers in the collection of solid waste (trash and yard waste) and recyclable materials from residential customer curbside pick-up locations.
- Load solid waste into the rear of the garbage truck.
- Operate equipment on truck to compact trash/material into the truck.
- Assist driver in safe operation of the vehicle by directing the driver in backing up the vehicle and close space maneuvering.
- Comply with all federal, state/provincial, local and company rules on safety and vehicle operation.
Qualifications:
- Ability to read, write, and communicate with others.
- Ability to follow instructions and perform duties under limited supervision.
- Ability to operate equipment necessary to perform job.
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, reach and lift in an outdoor environment.
- Must be able to use hands and fingers, kneel, crawl, talk, hear, climb, and balance.
- Ability to manually lift/move up to 50 pounds regularly. Ability to manually push/move up to 100 pounds with assistance from another employee.
