What are the responsibilities and job description for the Design Technician - Electric Distribution Systems (Hybrid RI/MA) position at EN Engineering LLC?

Looking for candidates in Eastern Massachusetts, Rhode Island, or within a 2-hour driving radius. Approximately 20% local travel.
In this role, here's what you'll do:
- Conduct Surveys and Inspections: You'll be performing GPS surveys and locating overhead and underground lines. Your keen eye will help with inspections, documenting electric distribution systems, and other related facilities.
- Utilize Cutting-Edge Technology: Use the Katapult Pro and Katapult handheld device to capture pole measurements and field notes. Your tech-savvy skills will be put to good use!
- Execute Project Design: You'll complete design tasks for associated electric utility design projects, which encompass drafting, engineering calculations, easement validation, design and construction cost estimating, and permit package development.
- Project Management: Juggle multiple projects to ensure they are completed on time and to the highest standards. Your efforts will lead to high levels of customer satisfaction and help us achieve our company and departmental goals.
- GIS Review: Review Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to identify updates or conflicts ensuring accuracy and efficiency in project execution.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma required.
- Reliable transportation.
- Detail and quality oriented. Must be comfortable reading and interpreting technical documentation including blueprints, construction specifications and other items.
- Ability to understand instructions and independently carry out instructed tasks.
- Strong communication and customer skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Technical certificate in drafting and/or Associate's degree in a technical field
- Experience with AutoCAD
- Prior experience supporting utility electric distribution projects
