Role Summary:
The Warehouse Clerk will support the daily operations of our Fremont facility by efficiently managing the flow of materials and products. This position is critical to ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of shipments and maintaining inventory control in compliance with ISO 9001:2015 standards. The ideal candidate has a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and an understanding of semiconductor or electronics manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Receiving & Inspection
- Receive incoming materials, including optical wafers, photonic modules, packaging supplies, and specialty chemicals.
- Compare deliveries against purchase orders, packing slips, and SDS (Safety Data Sheets) where applicable.
- Conduct basic inspections to ensure materials meet quality and safety standards before acceptance.
2. Inventory Management
- Maintain accurate records of material transactions in the company’s ERP or inventory management system.
- Organize and label stock areas to facilitate easy retrieval, with particular care for ESD-sensitive components.
- Perform regular cycle counts and assist in investigating and resolving inventory discrepancies.
3. Order Fulfillment & Shipping
- Pick, pack, and prepare parts or finished goods for production usage or external shipments.
- Coordinate shipping of hazardous and non-hazardous materials, adhering to relevant regulations (e.g., DOT, IATA) and ensuring proper labeling/documentation.
- Schedule and track outgoing shipments with freight carriers or courier services for on-time delivery.
4. Kitting for Production
- Assemble and label kits of optical wafers, photonic components, and other materials required for PLC or silicon photonics manufacturing.
- Employ ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) protocols, cleanroom requirements, and proper handling of sensitive semiconductor components.
- Collaborate with production teams to forecast material needs and ensure availability.
5. Quality & Compliance
- Strictly follow ISO 9001:2015 procedures and documentation standards.
- Support IATF 16949 alignment efforts for automotive product lines.
- Maintain up-to-date records and certifications for audits and regulatory requirements.
- Adhere to all safety, health, and environmental regulations, especially when handling chemicals and wafers.
6. Equipment & Facility Maintenance
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and effectively.
- Perform routine checks on warehouse equipment; report malfunctions or safety concerns promptly.
- Keep the warehouse clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards (e.g., OSHA, local fire codes).
7. Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Work closely with Production, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to ensure seamless material flow.
- Recommend process improvements related to warehouse layout, inventory methods, and cost efficiencies.
- Participate in team meetings and company-wide initiatives to optimize logistics processes as Enablence scales its operations.
Materials Handling Skills & Certifications:
- Forklift Certification (Preferred)
- Must possess or be willing to obtain a valid forklift operator license to move heavy pallets and crates efficiently.
- ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) Training (Preferred)
- Understanding and application of ESD-safe procedures, especially important for handling optical wafers and photonic devices.
- HAZMAT Shipping Certification (DOT/IATA) (Preferred)
- Knowledge of proper labeling, documentation, and packaging for hazardous materials commonly used in semiconductor manufacturing.
- Basic Chemical Handling
- Ability to read and interpret Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and follow chemical storage and disposal regulations.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent; coursework in supply chain, logistics, or related fields is beneficial.
- 1-3 years of warehouse/logistics experience in a manufacturing setting, preferably in semiconductor or electronics.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and basic proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Ability to lift 40–50 lbs. and stand/walk for extended periods.
- Strong organizational skills and detail-oriented mindset.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; must be able to interact with cross-functional teams.
- Prior exposure to ISO 9001:2015 or IATF 16949 requirements is a plus.
