Enartis USA, Inc. is currently recruiting for a Lab Coordinator who will be responsible for coordinating activities within the Enological Laboratory and performing accurate, general analysis of alcoholic beverages, grapes, grape products, incoming wine-based materials, and/or other related materials.
This position is based at the Enological Laboratory in Windsor CA, which is a support lab for Enartis and provides analysis and services, as necessary, to support product sales and help solve customer problems.
This role works closely with the Lab Team, the Winemaking Specialist, and the Technical & Marketing Manager to execute product trials and basic chemical analysis. It also plays a critical role in connecting our Laboratory expertise with our sales efforts. This individual will leverage their analytical skills and laboratory knowledge to provide valuable insights, advice, and support to the sales team, ultimately driving sales growth and customer satisfaction.
In addition, this role takes the lead in instrument troubleshooting, maintenance, and validation with support from the Laboratory Team as necessary.
This role and the overall Technical Team in the US are supported by the Global Enartis Technical Team, which utilizes a wealth of resources from internal and external R&D. The Lab Coordinator communicates with the Global Team (particularly, the Global Lab Coordinator) to maintain a gold standard of methodology and technical know-how locally.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Enological Laboratory Testing (80%)
- Responsible for the coordination and execution of analytical testing, with special focus on instrumental analysis, including troubleshooting, maintenance, and validation.
- Ability to set up and carry out enological trials.
- Accurate planning of the daily activities of the Laboratory. Ensure that all timing is respected.
- Supports Technical Team with enological knowledge and additional projects/trials.
- Provide technical expertise to clients and Sales Team. Collaborate with sales representatives to develop tailored solutions and proposals for clients based on their specific requirements.
- Support the Marketing and Communications Team with the creation of material necessary for marketing purposes, such as reports containing trial results and product application, or other resources that effectively communicate the value of our laboratory services.
- Coordinate the outsourcing of any necessary testing that cannot be done in-house.
- Manage work order system and communication of enological laboratory results to appropriate parties.
- Write and maintain up-to-date SOPs for analysis methods used in-house.
- Ensure quality and QC for the definition of quality parameters of new products, for shelf-life extension activities, in the management of any complaints, and in monitoring of new production processes.
- Stay up to date on industry trends, competitive offerings, and emerging technologies in the laboratory field.
- Maintain strong relationships with the Lab and technical team to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
Equipment Maintenance and Troubleshooting (10%)
- Coordinate preventative and routine maintenance procedures as necessary for each instrument installed at the Enartis Enological Lab.
Innovation (10%)
- Research emerging technologies and instrumentation and propose implementation on promising or innovative developments.
- Coordinate routine training on in-house instrumentation to understand new/updated troubleshooting and maintenance requirements.
- Develop and propose testing and trials to help broaden knowledge on various products and procedures.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
