Job Summary
The Electronics Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electronic medical equipment and systems within the hospital. This role ensures that all medical devices and electronic systems function safely and efficiently to support patient care and hospital operations.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections, testing, and preventative maintenance on medical and electronic equipment to ensure compliance with hospital policies and industry standards.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate electronic devices, including patient monitors, infusion pumps, defibrillators, diagnostic imaging equipment, and other hospital electronics.
- Assist in the installation and configuration of new electronic and biomedical equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance schedules, and service reports.
- Work closely with clinical and technical staff to provide training on the proper use and care of medical equipment.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including The Joint Commission (TJC), FDA, NFPA, and OSHA.
- Collaborate with vendors and manufacturers for equipment servicing and technical support.
- Maintain inventory of spare parts and electronic components needed for repairs and replacements.
- Respond to emergency repair requests in a timely manner to minimize equipment downtime.
- Participate in hospital safety programs and initiatives related to medical equipment and electronic system reliability.
Education, Experience and Skill Required
- Associate’s degree or certification in Electronics Technology, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent military training or technical school experience may be considered.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in electronics repair, preferably in a hospital or healthcare setting. Experience with biomedical equipment is a plus.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing electronic circuits, troubleshooting software-based equipment, and using testing tools such as multimeters and oscilloscopes.
- Familiarity with medical device standards and safety regulations.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, effective communication, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Pay: $30.00 - $34.00 per hour
