What You Will Do:Leads a team of GIS professionals and Cartographers in the execution of their roles as providers of geographic information systems (GIS) and Mapping and support consumers throughout the company.
Responsible for strategic planning, development and implementation or improvement of spatial data management, spatial data publishing and special mapping initiatives.
Responsible for strategic development and improvement of support tools, which ensure compliance with federal DOT regulations
Ensure that GIS solutions conform to long-term business and technical strategies for both sustainment and development efforts.
Coordinates, manages, and directs GIS database/application development, definitions, integrations, maintenance and implementation.
To work closely with the Manager of Systems and Information, TIS and key partners to ensure operational spatial data systems are maintained and managed in support of business needs.
Identify and utilize proven GIS technology and tools to advance the delivery of integrated, managed spatial data services to partners.
Conduct or participate in employee performance reviews, coaching and counseling, and career development for direct reports.
Bachelor's Degree in Geography, business, management information systems or related discipline.
At least ten (10) years of related business experience, including supervisory experience.
Detailed understanding of business operations, coupled with in-depth knowledge of GIS suite of products from Esri.
Pipeline Industry experience with an understanding of the PODS/UPDM data models.
Ability to articulate visions and plans for GIS system improvement, drive change and achieve results.
Proficient in using critical strategic thinking to resolve analytical and technical conflicts.
Proven relationship building, organizational, risk analysis, negotiations and decision making skills.
Understanding of project development, project execution, and cost management.
Office environment requiring extensive work on computer, networking with partners, research of technical issues and development of plans and reports.
Travel expectations (approx. 15%) for meetings and training support as needed.
Ability to travel with valid passport.
Flexibility required to work extended hours when required to manage work priorities and address partner needs.
