What you will do:
Provide technical assistance to field personnel including identifying gaps in processes or procedures.
Understand and apply all applicable CFR 192 code requirements to ensure engineering, materials selection, material testing, and intended operation meet all requirements.
Understand and make decisions around the implementation of processes, projects, or procedures that have direct impacts to the overall system and the area operations personnel.
Understand and apply sound decision making towards implementing Standard Operating Procedures to ensure safe and reliable operation within the Region.
Understand operational documentation requirements and be able to support corporate and field level audits.
Understand how to do simple as well as complex and abnormal load calculations to ensure integrity of the system is maintained.
Perform an engineering evaluation on third party encroachment requests including State DOT construction plans.
Create, review, analyze and approve gas handling procedures of varying complexity.
Participate in Engineering reviews of projects of varying scope and impact.
Serve a role within the region operational Incident Command Structure in the event of an emergency situation.
Assist with data and information requests from other departments.
Develop and provide expertise in the area of pipeline operations to the other members of the Regional Technical Staff as well as other departments within the Company.
Who you are:
You have the following education and experience:
Bachelor's in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical or other related Engineering Field
Minimum of 4 years of experience in the Natural Gas Transmission Industry
Physical Requirements:
Include but are not limited to: Balancing, bending and stooping, climbing, crawling, carrying (up to 25 pounds), grasping, kneeling, lifting (objects up to 25 pounds), pulling hand over hand, pushing, reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, sitting, standing, walking, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement, grasping, kneeling, light - moderate lifting (objects up to 25 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement.

Include but are not limited to: Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.
