What You Will Do
You have the following education and/or experience:
Balancing, bending and stooping, climbing, crawling, carrying (up to 25 pounds), grasping, kneeling, lifting (objects up to 25 pounds), pulling hand over hand, pushing, reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, sitting, standing, walking, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement.
Mental Requirements (Both field & office) include but are not limited to:
Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand sophisticated problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, prioritize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, coordinate and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and supervise impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and connect with individuals via telephone.

What You Will Do
- Supervise daily drilling activities of all drilling crews and the progress of all projects.
- Lead all aspects of and provide engineering support and expertise in design of new well drilling projects.
- Provides direction and leadership for hiring, training, and development of employees, including performance appraisals.
- Prepares AFE's and track budgets for drilling projects.
- Assures compliance with company policies and government regulations while achieving minimum cost objectives.
- Compiles data and prepares reports for upper management. Coordinates with contractors or project partners as required.
You have the following education and/or experience:
- Minimum bachelor's degree from an ABET accredited institution.
- 7 years of advanced knowledge of petroleum engineering principles and practices.
- 7 years of drilling experience.
- Knowledge of various types of wellbore equipment and operations.
- Knowledge in oil and gas economics and the use of ARIES preferred.
- Knowledge in drilling various wellbore types and rock types. Ability to manage different drilling techniques depending on the wellbore design, area , and rock characteristics being drilled.
- Knowledge in safe drilling practices and cultivating an atmosphere of safety across all members of the team.
- Knowledge of and ability to use a personal computer and related software to meet department needs.
- Knowledge in contractual negotiations and legal assistance for contractors and vendors.
- Ability to develop procedures and standard procedures for the company and implementing best practice for the team.
- Ability to see objects at close range and to determine the distance and relationship between objects.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Ability to apply scientific principles to analyze and solve complex problems.
- Ability to gather, research, analyze data and prepare financial, statistical or analytical studies and reports.
- Advanced knowledge of natural gas drilling and production operations.
- Encourage an atmosphere of teamwork from engineers, consultants, coordinators and superintendents.
